Pimalai Resort & Spa, which opened on November 1st, 2001, is the first and unique 5-star property existing on Koh Lanta, Krabi, Thailand. The resort was recently awarded "Kinnari 2004/ Excellence - Best Tourism Accommodation - Southern region by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Koh Lanta is a very quiet and natural destination with its own charm. Pimalai Resort & Spa is built on a splendid 100 acres of hilly land of lush tropical forest with direct access to a 900 meters pristine sandy beach. A great emphasis has been placed by the architects to preserve the environment when designing the low rise southern style buildings and this results today in a resort complementing the setting rather than competing with it.
The property is located approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Krabi International Airport and is reached by the resort's private minibus and cruising boat. The accommodation of restful low-density and of a southern style design, are nestled in this magnificent lush tropical forest, overlooking Ba Kan Tiang Bay.

The resort currently offers 79 elegantly appointed rooms, suites and villas with a contemporary Thai style design, a superb infinity-edge freshwater swimming pool, a PADI dive center, a gym with high quality fitness equipment, a library lounge offering hi-speed internet access and two shops. Food and Beverage facilities include, "Baan Pimalai" restaurant, a casual elegant dining venue offering international cuisine, "Spice'N Rice" proposing classic Thai cuisine, "Rak Talay" bar & restaurant, located right on the beach and offering great snacks and the freshest grilled seafood; the Lobby bar, the Pool Bar and two small meeting rooms (8 & 24 persons) for executive meetings complete the facilities.
An additional stunning 39 Pool Villas with either One or Two Bedrooms were opened last November 2005.

Beach Villa
Spectacularly located, hidden away among coconut palms and lush tropical vegetation and adjacent to the main resort are the seven Pimalai Beach Villas. In line with the resort's southern style architecture, the superb villas set peacefully within landscaped garden and with direct access to Ba Kan Tiang pristine sandy beach. Spacious, thoughtfully designed with refined elegance and comfort, the villas one, two and three bedrooms offer privacy and views of the beach and the Andaman Sea towards a brilliant Thai sunset.

Pool Villa
Each villa has a total living area of 204 sqm. built on a hilly land with the size ranging from 700 to 1000 sqm. Spacious, elegant and unpretentious in their architectural design, it provides commanding views of Kan Tiang bay and the surrounding lush tropical forest.

The villa consists of a master bedroom facing the bay; it is equipped with either, king size bed or twin beds and decorated in contemporary Thai style. The adjacent bathroom includes double vanity basins, walk-in shower equipped with rain-shower, and a large bathtub set behind a window panel overlooking the bay and the tropical garden.

The bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning and ceiling fan and it also features a 25" TV set and a CD/DVD player.

Step outside onto a spacious sundeck and plunge into your refreshing 5.5 x 3.5 meters infinity-edge private pool; an outdoor Thai style sala also awaits for you to relax or to receive private spa treatments whenever needed.

Across the sundeck is your living room also equipped with a 29" TV set and a CD/DVD player. The living room is furnished with a large sofa that can be turned into a bed should you have visiting friend during your stay; a second small bathroom has been added so to preserve privacy of the villa's occupants.

Finally, a kitchen equipped with oven, heating plaque, fridge, coffee filter machine and cooking utensils is there at your disposal should you decide to prepare for yourself and your partner one of your favorite Thai specialty.

Children Pool & Jacuzzi
Young children under 6 years old are not allowed in the large pool and should be in the small shallow water pool that is allocated to them.
Meanwhile, adults can enjoy a relaxing back massage in the Jacuzzi which is integrated in the large swimming pool.

Baan Pimalai Restaurant
The main restaurant offers an outdoor dining area with sweeping views of the resort's infinity-edge swimming pool, the landscaped gardens and the bay. A great breakfast buffet is served daily whilst lunch and dinner "a la carte" menus offer both Thai and Western dining choices.

Spice 'N Rice Thai Restaurant
This air-conditioned Thai restaurant offers classic Thai food dining. Authentic around Thailand fare and traditional favorites such as "Tom Yum Goong" are prepared with the freshest ingredients, artfully presented and full of flavor.

Rak Talay Beach Bar and Restaurant
This bar and restaurant, is located right on the beach, nestled beneath towering trees from where guest can take in the sweeping views of the Andaman Sea and gentle southern breezes. The menu features casual light snacks, including salads, pasta pizzas and great sandwiches. In the evenings, guests can choose from an abundant array of fresh, succulent seafood caught locally. Grilled, steamed or fried, the chefs are there to prepare your favorite dish to your liking.

Lobby Bar
A casual elegant open pavilion style lounge, set up 45 meters above sea level serving cocktails, pre and after dinner drinks. The Lobby Bar offers unrivaled views across the Ba Kan Tiang bay towards a brilliant Thai sunset.

Fitness Room
The Fitness Room features small gym functions with high quality fitness equipments to either relax or power you up. You can also enjoy a superb view of Ba Kan Tiang bay whilst exercising. The gym equipment includes, Lifecycle upright bike, Stair climber, Life fitness 3 stack multi-gyms, Adjustable Incline bench, Twin tier dumbbell rack and a treadmill; the 900 meters long beach and the newly concreted road that slices through the tropical vegetation are also ideal training grounds!

Library & Internet Room
The Library Room, adjacent to the resort shop, has an extensive selection of reading materials as well as computers with Internet access so guests can keep in touch with their family and friends. There are many books on Krabi province and Thailand, and on various aspects of Thai arts, culture and history. A choice of CD's and DVD's is also available free of charge for your own entertainment in your room.
